How Pricing Work
The cost to ship your vehicle will be based on the following factors:
- Year, make and model of vehicle
- The distance from pickup to delivery
- Time of year (winter, summer, spring, fall)
- Open or Enclosed Transports
- Space and availability of the carriers
- Cost of diesel gas
YEAR, MAKE and MODEL
The cost to ship your vehicle will be primarily based on its weight and the amount of space it will take up in the shipping container. We require the year, make, and model of your car in order to determine the size and weight of your vehicle. The age of the car does not factor into the shipping cost.
The Distance
The cost for transporting a car (or ANY vehicle) will be on a cents-per-mile basis determined by pickup location and destination. There is NO FLAT FEE ACROSS THE BOARD. Brokers do not determine the cost; the carrier/driver does, based on how much the DOT in each individual state charges truck drivers to use the interstates. This cost is per vehicle on a carrier and covers the overhead cost associated to transport any vehicle. The overhead each carrier/driver must cover are:
- Fuel Cost
- Taxes, Tolls, Weigh Station Fees
- Insurance (per vehicle)
Time of Year (Seasons)
The time of year you are shipping your vehicle is an important factor in the shipping cost. This is due to changes in demand throughout the different seasons. The higher the demand due to season changes, the higher the cost of shipping. For example, high demand during winter/snow-bird season can drive up the cost of shipping because the number of vehicles that need to be transported will outnumber the available carriers running that route.
As a result of these changes in seasonal demand, we recommend that you book your request as early as possible, giving our agents at ShipNao the best opportunity to take care of your transportation needs by pre-advancing your orders months ahead of time.
